Rolland "RC" Thompson

Rolland “RC” Thompson is the Founder and former CEO of Tactical Air Support. Initially founded on the model of the US Navy’s TOPGUN and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.

Prior to founding Tactical Air, RC served 5 years in the U.S. Army and 26 years in the U.S. Navy. Some of his many assignments and positions included: “Exec” to the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command; Commander of an Operational Carrier Air Wing and Strike Warfare Commander during Operation Enduring Freedom where he led the combat flight operations of 3 carrier Air Wings; Commanding Officer of TOPGUN; Director of Training at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center (NSAWC), and Operational Command of an F/A-18 squadron.

RC’s Aviation experience includes two instructor tours at TOPGUN, over 1200 carrier landings and 7600 hours in tactical aircraft: He is fully qualified in various aircraft including the F/A-18, F- 14, F-16N, A7, A4, UH-1, OH-58 and AH-1, with additional experience in the Mig-17/21 and Mig-29. He was designated an Army Aviator at the age of 19 and has completed 3 combat deployments since that time.

RC holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a Masters in National Security Strategy from the National War College, and an Executive MBA from the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
