Leaders in Tactical Adversary Training
Elite aviators. Military-grade threat replication. Mission-ready support for today’s combat air forces.

About Flight Ops
Flight Operations is the execution heartbeat of Tactical Air Support and the embodiment of our ethos: “We Serve Those Who Serve.” Flying thousands of support hours a year of commercial adversary air services, our pilots and aircraft challenge our nation’s warfighters in the skies to ensure they are ready to deploy operationally abroad in service to our nation's interests.
Tactical Air Support offers cost-effective and efficient commercial air operations training by matching a versatile fleet of aircraft to specific mission needs. With limited funding and high readiness demands, U.S. fighter squadrons face a shortage in Adversary Air (ADAIR) for combat training. Our F-5 Advanced Tiger (F-5AT) platform is the leading ADAIR solution, combining the highest value of performance, sustainability, safety, and growth potential.

Adversary Air Operating Locations
U.S. Navy, NAWDC Red Air Program, Naval Air Station Fallon, NV
Naval operations are led out of NAS Fallon, home of the Naval Air Warfare Development Center. Located in a Nevada high desert, the air base is the home of Navy tactical air training and weapons schools, such as the prestigious U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School, better known as TOPGUN. NAS Fallon is able to host an entire carrier air wing for comprehensive training while integrating every element of the wing into realistic battle scenarios.
Tactical Air Support supports Naval operations with dedicated aircraft, pilots, and maintainers on site. This group conducts full Air Wing support and also travels for detachments to support naval aviation units in various locations as called upon. Since the beginning of the 2023 contract, the team holds an astounding 99% sortie completion rate.

U.S. Air Force Combat Air Force Contracted Air Support (CAFCAS)
Air Force operations are led out of Hill Air Force Base and Eglin Air Force Base. These are our newest Operating Locations, having been awarded these contracts during the Summer of 2024 and supporting primarily F-35 joint strike fighter training.
Hill AFB is located 30 miles north of Salt Lake City in Utah. Hill is home of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex which is the worldwide manager for a wide range of aircraft, engines, missiles, software, avionics, and accessories components. Tactical Air Support supports the 388th Fighter Wing (active duty) and the 419th Fighter Wing (reserve).
The 388th includes the 4th Fighter Squadron (Fightin' Fuujins), the 34th Fighter Squadron (Rude Rams), and the 421st Fighter Squadron (Black Widows). The 419th includes the 466th Fighter Squadron (Diamondbacks). All the squadrons supported at Hill are combat coded units and fly the F-35A.
Eglin Air Force Base, located in the northwestern Florida Panhandle, operates under Air Force Materiel Command and serves as the Air Force’s center for armament excellence. The base is responsible for the development, acquisition, testing, deployment, and sustainment of all air-delivered non-nuclear weapons. Eglin is also home to the 33rd Operations Group (33 OG), which includes the 58th and 60th Fighter Squadrons. These units play a central role in F-35 pilot training, supporting two F-35 Basic Courses (B-Courses) that produce newly qualified, combat-ready pilots for the active duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), and Air National Guard (ANG).
The Tactical Air Support team provides realistic "Red Air" threat replication to enhance the effectiveness of F-35 training. The recent addition of F-5AT aircraft has significantly improved adversary presentations by simulating peer-level threats, reducing the need for F-35s to fulfill Red Air roles and preserving valuable fifth-generation resources for mission-ready training.
