Chief Business Officer

Gerald S. "Spud" Gallop

Gerry is the Chief Business Officer at Tactical Air Support and is responsible for B2B engagement, fostering relationships with key partners, clients, and stakeholders. Additionally, he collaborates with both the Innovation and Strategy departments to incubate concepts and explore opportunities for future business expansion.Initially founded on the model of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology-driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.

Spud’s military career in aircraft carrier fighter aviation spanned twenty years, with operational pilot tours aboard four different aircraft carriers flying F-4 Phantoms, F-14 Tomcats, and F/A-18 Hornets. He served as the Commanding Officer of a fleet Hornet squadron, the Commander of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), and supervised graduate-level carrier air wing training and the Helicopter Training Division.

Prior to his work at Tactical Air, Gerry served as the Director of Tactical Air Services at Advanced Training Solutions International (ATSI) in Phoenix, Arizona. In that role, he supervised all aspects of a 10-aircraft flight department, supplying adversary services to the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Canadian Forces. Gerry started with Tactical Air in 2007 as a military analyst supporting Navy strike-fighter tactics development at NAS Fallon and NAWC China Lake. His flying responsibilities have included fleet support operations, close air support, and contract adversary work. In 2008 he was one of the first two western civilian pilots to become fully IP qualified in the Sukhoi Su-27. Gerry served as the General Manager of Aircraft Services, running the company’s Air Operations, Logistics, Quality and Maintenance Divisions, and has been central to building the flight operations side of Tactical Air.

He has a B.S. in Naval Science with a minor in History from the United States Naval Academy and has completed executive training courses at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and the Wharton School of Business.
