Jeff "Tuna" Johnson

Jeff is the Chief Executive Officer of Tactical Air Support. Initially founded on the model of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and US Air Force’s Weapons School, Tactical Air Support is redefining government contracting as a non-traditional defense company focused on value-based, innovative, and technology-driven products and services for the US Armed Forces.

Prior to working at Tactical Air Support, Jeff spent five years as a senior executive at Rockwell Collins Inc., working in business aviation and government aviation services, then as General Manager of a railroad and nuclear security services business. Prior to working for Rockwell Collins, Jeff served for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard, retiring from active duty as a Brigadier General in 2012. His final assignment was commanding a composite Air National Guard Wing responsible for the air defense of the National Capital Region and the executive airlift of our Nation’s Senior Leaders. He commanded aviation and maintenance units at multiple levels throughout his military career.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School in the F-16, and he has served in Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Northern Watch, and Operation Southern Watch. His aviation experience includes over 3,400 hours in military fighter aircraft, including the F-4, and F-16. Additionally, he was a pilot at a major U.S. air carrier, and he has extensive general aviation experience in a number of different aircraft.
