Nevada’s Tactical Air Support – Tactical Air- has won a US Navy contract to provide fourth-generation fighter jet services using it’s fleet of upgraded F-5E/F Advanced Tigers.

The Reno-based company is recipient of a $106.7 million five-year contract that will provide the US Navy with airborne threat simulation capabilities to train aircrew and shipboard operators in countering potential enemy advanced airborne threats, tactics, electronic warfare and electronic attack.  Work will primarily be preformed in Fallon, Nevada, and is expected to be complete in May 2023.

Tactical Air describes its upgraded Advanced Tigers as offering the best combination of threat representation, safety, and efficiency for the US Navy.  Tactical Air’s F-5s have been equipped with the latest technology, similar to the newest USA Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps aircraft.  The modifications include upgraded radar, high-tech displays, controls, and sensors allowing the Advanced Tiger to simulate modern air-to-air threat aircraft and weapons.
